It is estimated that up to 2.5 million Internet users shall be able to surf in future with the ISP platform based on Dell servers. The "Tornado Solution" developed for Cablecom is capable of meeting the growing demand for Broadband Internet access and supports the cable network provider rapidly evolving into Switzerland s leading multimedia and telecom server.
"As for the name Tornado," Matthias Aebi, founder and CEO of futureLAB said with a big smile, "one must not interpret that description too seriously. We simply like to give our projects catchy names." But it must be added in all modesty that the "Tornado Solution" developed by the young Winterthur engineering company, like its North American namesake, is bound to create quite a stir in Switzerland as well. "This is an extremely important strategic project for Cablecom", Jude Blake, Chief Marketing Officer at Cablecom explained. "The new platform allows us to offer the highest quality broadband products and services and to further reinforce our leading position in the Swiss market."
